WELCOME TO THE FIRST COMMUNITY ACUPUNCTURE CLINIC IN THE TRI-VALLEY
Body in Balance offers affordable acupuncture to enable people to have simple and frequent acupuncture, because frequent acupuncture is the best medicine.
What is BIBCAC’s rate?
BIBCAC is using a sliding scale fee of $20.00 - 40.00. There is no income verification. You decide what can pay. Some people have different health care needs that require a continuous course of treatments. We want everyone to be well, and we don’t want high fees to be the reason you cannot commit to the entire treatment plan. Yes, it is unconventional for the Tri-Valley area. But it is also necessary. Our quality treatments are simplified, thus allowing us the time to treat more people and have a sliding scale. People who use community acupuncture centers throughout the country are grateful for the opportunity to incorporate acupuncture in their lives. Everyone appreciates the flexibility in fees, as well as the warm and relaxing community experience!
What should I expect?
Patients to BIBCAC are treated in a comfortable living room setting. Each patient relaxes in a recliner and receives treatment in their chair. Only shoes and socks need to be removed, no one needs to undress. Points are chosen on the arm, hand, leg, feet and head. Patients can wear short sleeve shirts and shorts, or they can simply roll up their pant legs and sleeves for easy access. Treatments are simplified meaning fewer needles are used. Because community acupuncture is affordable, patients can have more frequent treatments, thus more needles aren’t necessary.
Once the needles are in place, patients can sit and relax and disconnect for a while. Soft, serene music or sounds of nature are played to quiet and disengage busy minds. Expect to drift off to sleep. When you wake up, the needles are removed and you can return to your day’s activities feeling more harmonious, calm and tranquil.
Will the needles hurt?
When people hear the word ‘needle’, they tend to think of a syringe which is used by doctors. Acupuncture needles are different. They are very fine needles, usually just as wide as three strands of hair which is all that is needed to manipulate the energy. Remember, acupuncture is not meant to injure the tissues, as that would make it part of the problem and not part of the solution. Rather acupuncture needles are so fine, they simply glide into the energetic point. However acupuncture needles are manufactured with great quality and care to make them be as pain free as possible.
With that being said, there may be a pinch sensation when the needle is inserted. Don’t worry. It should disappear within moments, and a new sensation will be felt, like a warming feeling, or heavy, dull, achy, or tingling feeling. NO NEEDLE IS EVER LEFT IN PLACE THAT CAUSES YOU DISTRESS! Tell the acupuncturist that your needle is too uncomfortable for you to relax, and it will be adjusted.
***It is California Law that all acupuncture needles are sterile, disposable and used only once to reduce any risk of contamination.
